Prior literature on pediatric patients with pulmonary embolism (PE) is limited – mostly consisting of patients with malignancy or indwelling lines. Now, we have a prospective study on venous thromboembolism (VTE) evaluation in pediatric patients. The major result is that VTE was common….6.3% of patients with documented medical decision making considering PE, D-dimer, or imaging for PE had objective diagnosis of VTE.
